Urbanscapes

Every now and then I paint vistas from the past. As I am inspired by a certain door, window, or architectural structure, I am constantly imagining the life beyond – the stories of the past, present and future which that structure will be the home of. Urbanscapes are a complex balance of the old and the new, whose details are defined how man-made geometry connect with the natural canvas on which it was constructed. In order to bring these images to life, I pay particular attention to their shape, line, and form, and how these elements connect with nature.
