I have always felt the need to be creative. Having lived in three provinces across Canada, I have continually found inspiration in patterns, shapes, and textures found throughout nature and have used them to transform a blank canvas steeped in meaning and memory. Bringing landscapes to life on the canvas is an enriching experience. I savour the process of collecting ideas, composing, and delivering a new painting - it brings me great joy knowing that my work is hung in a new home.
As a self-directed artist, I frequently seek out new knowledge and inspiration by working with other artists and attending workshops to learn new techniques and to develop my skills. Learning is a lifelong endeavor, and my approach to art is no different.
In addition to being an artist, I am a mother of three grown boys and am a retired Registered Nurse who specialized in intensive and cardiac care. I am an avid runner and tri-athlete, and have completed 29 half marathons to date. I also enjoy beachcombing through soaking up the sights and sounds of nature as the waves reveal their treasures.
A native of Perth, Ontario, I share my time between my home studio in Greely and my lake house on Otty Lake outside of Perth, with my husband.
